New casinos are contributing billions to the development of South Africa's tourism infrastructure. The smallest and richest province, Gauteng, is the gateway to South Africa; visitors touch down at Johannesburg International Airport, a stone's throw from Caesars, Carnival City, Gold Reef City, Montecasino, and Emerald Casino Resort. Driving west into North West province, the legendary Sun City and Lost City lies in the Pilanesberg. To the east of Gauteng is Mpumalanga, Nelspruit boasts the mid-sized Emnotweni casino, and Graceland, in Secunda. Travelling south from Gauteng into the interior, the Free State has two casino licenses at the moment - Thaba 'nchu and Naledi. In KwaZulu-Natal the most popular are the Suncoast casino and Wild Coast Sun. Cape Town’s GrandWest can compete with any other megacasino in the world. At the moment there are 28 casinos in South Africa, with a total of 17 493 slot machines and 632 gaming tables. A further six casinos will open in the near future.

Sun City and Lost City

In the middle of an extended Savannah lies the Las Vegas of southern Africa. Businessman Sol Kerzner set up this complex quite close to Johannesburg and Pretoria, where, amongst other things, gambling is offered. Internationally famous entertainers perform at Sun City. The name stands for luxurious hotels, beautifully laid-out water gardens, excellent golf courses, unusual gambling halls, exclusive casinos and first-class entertainment shows. No wonder Sun City attracts more than 25.000 visitors every day. The latest jewel in the chain of casino complexes is Lost City. It was planned in the style of a sunken, legendary African town. It is beautifully situated and imaginatively decorated.

Caesars Gauteng

The 1500 slot machines and 50 gaming tables offer something for every gaming enthusiast including traditional reel slots, the latest multi-line video slots, as well as novelty games such as simulated horse racing. With progressive jackpot payouts ranging from R1250 to more than R3 million, Caesars Gauteng is sure to offer 24-hour fun, glamour, sophistication and excitement in gaming entertainment.
